Used for the heights and speeds on screen. A party balloon filled to about 30 cm across rises about 300 ft a minute. The raw readings are saved either way, so this never changes the data.
Hold the phone like a compass with the top edge toward the light, and tilt it up to the pibal. Bearings are magnetic, the same as a hand compass. Readings are best taken a few steps from the vehicle.
